Institute for advanced laser dentistry receives recognition from the American Dental Association

The Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry (IALD) today announced its laser training program for dentists called Laser BootCamp™.

The Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry (IALD) today announced that its laser training program for dentists, called Laser BootCamp™, has received from the American Dental Association the prestigious Continuing Education Recognition Program approval, otherwise known as ADA-CERP.

According to the ADA, “The American Dental Association’s Continuing Education Recognition Program (ADA CERP) has been in operation since 1993. The ADA CERP evaluates and approves institutions and organizations that provide continuing education (CE). Recognizing the need to offer its members and the dental community a way to select continuing education with confidence, the ADA started the ADA CERP in conjunction with a group of organizations representing the dental profession. The ADA CERP is managed by a standing committee of the Council on Dental Education and Licensure that includes representatives of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Dental Examiners, the American Association of Dental Schools, the Canadian Dental Association and the organizations representing the recognized dental specialties.

The ADA CERP evaluates providers in 15 aspects of program quality. Only CE providers that can meet the ADA CERP’s standards and procedures are granted ADA CERP approval and are authorized to use the ADA CERP logo and/or approval statement on their publications. Once approved, CE providers are held accountable for maintaining those same high standards. The ADA CERP does not approve the specific courses or the credit hours that recognized providers offer.”

The Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry is currently the only United States laser training Institute in active operation that has the ADA-CERP recognition and can award CE credits to dentists who are attending training for lasers.

The IALD works in association with Millennium Dental Technologies, Inc, a manufacturer of the PerioLase® MVP-7–the first laser designed and dedicated to the treatment of severe gum disease–specifically for use in the patented Laser Periodontal Therapy™.
